Freedom in the Attention Economy

25 merakiQuality Score8/10

Modern people find their attention pulled in so many directions at once. It really isn't just one bad thing that contributes to this. In fact many things that compete for our attention are inherently good; time with family, career development, learning a new exercise routine, viewing educational content, and much more. However, this leaves so many people stressed, confused, exhausted, and unable to authentically connect with themselves and those important to them.

Human need

Sustained attention is a skill that has allowed humanity to flourish by enabling investment in the development of skills, the raising of children, and growth of community. When our attention is consistently fragmented, we experience disconnection from family, friends, ourselves, and ultimately from what really matters for our human flourishing.

Social change opportunity

When attention is taken seriously people have the opportunity to experience greater connection with themselves, their loved ones, and their community. It creates an opportunity for stronger relationships, more fruitful partnerships, greater self-understanding, and so much more.
